Follow me during my nearly five months in New Zealand

Change of plans….

I just spoke to my tattooist (tafuga), Petelo Suluape and unfortunately for me, he will not be in Samoa around Christmas. But, he will meet me in Auckland in the end of August. I really wanted my tatau to be done in Samoa but I guess there is nothing to do about that. Might as well have it done as early as possible due to the high cost. Imagine travelling all the way to Samoa and when you get there all the money is already spoiled on stupid thrills in NZ. Good thing is that I will have the health to travel and enjoy Samoa rather than lying in a bed in great pain.

The tatau will cost me 1500 AUD, around 8900SEK or 1300USD. Fair price for the time it will take and that there are three people working at the same time. One to make the tatau and two stretching the skin. And of course, having a over 2000 year old traditional tatau on my back.

Well, time to get one of that hepatitis C vaccination…

All I have left…

Artist: The Rolling Stones
Album: Aftermath [1966]
Track: Paint it black
Why: I saw them the other day at Ullevi here in Gothenburg, great concert btw, and this song fitted quite good with he picture I made the day after. If it wasn’t for the “happy” ending Dear doctor had, that song would be instead of this one (Oh help me, please doctor, I’m damaged. There’s a pain where there once was a heart. Its sleeping, its a beating, cant ya please tear it out, and preserve it right there in that jar?).

Only six workdays left. Last day at work is the only thing I’m looking forward to right now. Wish I could say the same thing for this trip, but I can’t. Arriving in Christchurch will probably be the second worse thing in my life right now. Guess it can only get better.
